In recognition of more than 40 years of experience in reproductive health, Jane Chapman, PA, was recognized by the Arizona Health and Family Partnership in the Clinician Spotlight section of the National Clinical Training Center for Family Planning Newsletter.
“I’m honored to be nominated for the feature,” said Jane. “I think it’s a really great thing to be recognized for.”
A self-described ‘underdog’, Jane said she has always had a heart for this type of work because she’s known firsthand what it’s like to not be able to access services. Speaking about her motivation to enter this field, she says:
“What first drew me to this work was a desire to help individuals and families to decide if and when they have children. I was very aware of how a pregnant, unmarried woman could easily fall into dire straits due to the social stigma. This was 40 years ago. Now we provide all FDA-approved family planning methods, including long-acting reversible contraceptives, to all who want the services. Thanks to Title X and Arizona Family Health Partnership, we supply the methods directly. We have trained three Family Practice providers to provide these services as well.” Congratulations, Jane!
CHCY’s goal has been to provide the best care possible to our patients. To do this, we recruit for the very best individuals we can find. The key to having a great team is ensuring each individual is not only loving, but also passionate about our mission. And I believe every individual at CHCY possesses these gifts. The patient remarks above suggest that we are clearly evolving in the right direction and with excellence. Thank you for your support as we move into the new year! - Colin Kerr, M.D.
